He was ordered deported to Chile last September~^by the Board of Immigration ~ppeal~. Laipenieks, who coached Chile's Olympic track teams in 1952 and 1956 and the 1964 nexican track team, has denied he was involved in war crimes while serving with the Latvian Political Police during the Nazi occupation of his homeland.
