ent Reagan has "secretly sus-
ended" -a ban against assassina-
kions in the C[A's reported covert
faction against Libyan leader Muam-
nnar Qaddafi, the American Civil
3.iberties Union said yesterday.
Citing a Nov. 3 report in The
Washington Post that Reagan had
epproved a campaign against Qad-
dafi, the ACLU also urged the over-
sight committee to ensure that "ef-
7ective steps" are taken to prevent
the killing of Qaddafi.
According to the Post report,
~ommittee leaders had expressed
~oncern about the Central Intelli-
pence Agency covert operation be-
tcause they feared it could end in
addafi's assassination.
