The defector, who uses the pseu- donym Victor Suvarov, said he had ,been a major in the GRU military in- telligence network, which he said was run out of the Soviet Embassy in London. Many GRU spies worked in the Soviet trade delegation, he said. "It is the best imaginable cover.
