There is no doubt. that government
funds have financed some of the so-

for ; Peace,. which lists on:its_,letter-
head such - luminaries as Stuart
Mott; the General Motors heir, andl
Peter. Weiss,- ;who happens to be
Cora's son. My recent mail has con-
? tamed fund-raising appeals from
the Fund for. Peace, but after a look
at; that list I was not tempted.
These- negative-charge organiza-
tions have interlocking boards of di-
rectors. Marcus Raskin, as one ex-
ample, is" one of .the. co-directors of
the-IPS,and an advisory board mem-
ber,.for-the outfit which!. published
,Counterspy magazine. That is the
.nnagazine-~,.which,- specialized In.
printing.- the names of alleged CIA
eclipse for -some Marxist million-
aires and writers, .the maid, result
was to discredit the anti-communist
spokesmen for some very good and
useful organizations.- ~ - .;
Today, subversion is a much
greater threat than it was then:.Un-
less'we learn"to keep an eye'on its
authors, without accusing each oth-
er of something called ' McCarthy-
ism, it will again achieve the kind of
success it knew during the Vietnam
War. .

cry "peace" but work with the bru-
