A Senate subcommittee began two days of closed hearings Tuesday on security
for the 1984 summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Among the witnesses testifying before the Senate Security and Terrorism
subcommittee were representatives from the White House, the Central
Intelligence Agency, the Defense Department, the State Department, the FBI,
the Immigration and Naturalization Service, the National Security
Administration, the Secret Service and the Coast Guard.
Also on the witness list were representatives from California governor's
office, the Long Beach Police Department, the Los Angeles Police Department, the
California Sheriff's Office and the California Olympic Organizing Committee.
