LA TIMES, AP REPORTER AMONG IAPA AWARD WINNERS

The Los Angeles Times and an Associated Press reporter are among top winners
of 1985 Inter American Press Association awards.
The Los Angeles Times will receive an award recognizing continuing attention
to Inter-American affairs for a series of articles about Central America.
Robert Parry of the AP's Washington bureau won the award for spot news for
his exclusive stories about a CIA manual that advised U.S.-backed Nicaraguan
rebels how to use sabotage and assassination.
