U.S. photo-reconna~s- sance cameras have photographed the unloading of 11 shiploads of heavy weapons in Nicaragua this ; year. Hi-tech intelligence also has ~ verified the arrival of 1,200 Cuban military advisers on the scene. Ac- cording to Intelligence reports, one is a top 'Cuban general with combat experience in Angola. ? Castro has urged the Nicaraguan ,leaders to make no con- cessions to democracy. His secret advice, intercepted by U.S. intelli- , gence, ated the late Salvador Al- lende, who died during a coup against his Marxist government in Chile. Allende's mistake, said .Castro, was to continue democratic tradi=y tions rather than impose cleft-wing dictatorship on the country., , ;DP90-009658000100140047-8 i Declassified in Part -Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/01/03 :CIA-RDP90-009658000100140047-8
