ASHINGTON - Electronic
Intercepts in Europe of
conversations- dealing
with Col. Moanunar Kha-
dafy's assassination
plans are key pieces of evidence bolstering
charges against the Libyan strongman by
the Reagan Administration.
This contradicts widely-circulated re:
ports that US intelligence was relying sole-
ly on a single, new informant for its charge
that Libyan hit Men have targeted Presi-
dent Reagan and other top US officials. In
fact, the electronic intelligence is also
known to US European allies.
A footnote: Unpublicized by the Reagan,
Administration, Libya's own intelligence
agency ostensibly running the assassi-
nation campaign-- is under the virtual
control of East Germany. with closest ties
to the Soviet KGB.
