Approved For Release 2008/12/01 : CIA-RDP90B01370R000200290023-4 CONFIDENTIAL 31 January 1984 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director, Office of Legislative Liaison Deputy Director for Intelligence SUBJECT Summary of DDI Briefings 1. Attached for your information is a reasonably accurate summary of DDI and NIC briefings in the last half of 1983 as well as our annual statistical report. The briefing summary should give you a good idea of the range of questions being posed to the DDI by the Hill. It does not, however, reflect the many man hours and the large number of analysts who were involved in satisfying some of these briefing needs--over 200 briefings in the last half of the year. 2. We believe we are making progress in getting our DDI contacts with the Hill into a more regularized and manageable channel. We will continue to try to keep the burden as light as possible for the production offices, while still satisfying the legitimate needs of Congress.
