James Bush 1. This is to request the award of the CIA Medallion to W. James Bush, Professional Staff Membex, House Permanent Select Ccnmittee on Intelligence (HPSCI). W. Bush has worked closely with the Agency during his tenure with HPSCI from October 1977 to the present. The inscription should read: "With grateful appreciation for all your efforts on behalf of the Central Intelligence Agency." 2. Mr. Bush, who has functioned since the Committee's inception as the staff budgetary authority on the Committee, has participated directly in the authorization bill process each year since that process began. As such he has provided invaluable advice and assistance to Agency planners and managers responsible for developing the annual intelligence authorization bill. Mr. Bush brings to this position a wealth of experience and expertise garnered during many years of Federal service. 3. If approved, we would propose to have the award presented, to W. Bush at a'formal ceremony in the Director's Conference Rooms with a luncheon hosted by Deputy Director John McMahon. Clair E.
