Knowing of your deep interest in achieving the eradication of drug abuse
in our nation, and knowing as well of your untiring efforts in this
regard, I am writing to invite you to participate in our upcoming Western
Hemisphere Conference on Narcotics Control.
On January 31, and February 1, 1985, I am sponsoring a Western Hemisphere
Conference on Narcotics Control to provide an opportunity for representatives
of foreign nations to exchange views, recommendations, and experience
with senior U.S. drug control officials.
This conference will be held in the Mansfield Room (S207) of the U.S.
Capitol, and will begin at 10:00.a.m. on both days, with a luncheon and
evening reception being hosted for the conference participants on January
31.
With your special expertise, I would be honored to have you speak to the
conference delegates. Heads of almost every Western Hemisphere nation
have been invited to participate or send representatives, and your
leadership will be invaluable in this international effort to stop drug
abuse. Should you or your staff have any questions, please direct them
