REFERENCE: Memorandum to Director, Office of
Legislative Liaison from General Counsel,
dated 17 February 1984
1. Attached is the latest draft of the Freedom of
Information Act relief legislation. I believe that this draft
meets the principal concerns you had in your referenced
memorandum. In particular, I would call your attention to the
inclusion of a provision in the bill limiting the judicial
remedy obtainable under any cause of action brought under this
Act. I would also note that the proposal to treat
organizational requests for records on themselves as first
person individual requests has been dropped from this draft.
