After ten years on Capitol Hill, most recently on the Senate
Committee on Foreign Relations, I have become the new Executive
Director of the World Affairs Council of Northern California.
It was a privilege for me, during my years on the Hill, to work
closely with people in the Agency. I value the friendships I
made and appreciated the professionalism with which I was treated
by your personnel.
It would be my hope that I might entice you to come to San Fran-
cisco to speak. The Bay Area International Forum (BAIF), made
up of senior executives of the major Bay Area corporations and
financial institutions, might provide the right audience for you.
The meetings of this Council-affiliated organization are off the
record and conducive to an in-depth exchange of views.
If, in principle, you would be prepared to come west, I would
appreciate a contact in your office with whom I might arrange
specific scheduling for sometime this fall.
