I wanted you to know how much my wife and I appreciated the opportunity to
attend the excellent "Donovan and the Fighting Sixty-Ni n on June
2, 1986. I was particularly proud that my good friend,
did such a marvelous job putting together the tasteful exhibit. Since my
father had served with the Pennsylvania Division in many of the same battles
as the Fighting Sixty-Ninth, it was a particularly memorable evening for me.
I saw Jack Wydler at the House Armed Services Committee markup on the DOD
bill, and told him I had had an opportunity to say hello to you at the
Fighting Sixty-Ninth reception. I believe that the last time I had met you we
had discussed the government's role in synthetic fuels at Jack's congressional
farewell party.
Our best wishes for continued success in your critical stewardship; if Bill
is in any way representative, you certainly have excellent people.
