MEMORANDUM FOR: Director, Office of Global Issues
Directorate of Intelligence
SUBJECT: SSCI Staff Request for Review of Staff Report:
"The Implications of Low Oil Prices for U.S.
Interests and Security"
1. Enclosed is a draft SSCI report on the petroleum
industry, prepared by Natalie Bocock of that staff.
2. The SSCI has asked our assistance in recommending
changes to the draft in order to publish an unclassified
report. Ms. Bocock asks that we bracket portions which should
be deleted, suggest alternate phrasing or provide other
recommendations.
3. As you are aware, Ms. Bocock developed background for
the paper from discussions with intelligence analysts and
review of finished intelligence, plus research of unclassified
materials. Her intent, however, is to produce an unclassified
document.
4. OCA would appreciate an OGI review on a priority basis.
