The Director has asked me to respond to your letter of
30 October requesting information pertaining to the United
States Government's ability to protect its personnel and
facilities from penetration by hostile intelligence services
overseas. As I mentioned to you during your visit to
Headquarters for breakfast on 24 November, we have been in
contact with the staff of the Permanent Subcommittee on
Investigations and are making arrangements to meet and discuss
with them how we can best respond to your inquiry.
