SUBJECT: Secure TV Line Between the Auditorium
and Room 1E60
1. The Visual Media Branch (VMB) of my Office is receiving an increasing
number of requests to show presentations originating in the Auditorium in the
OIR theaters. Many of the presentations are classified, however, and the line
running from the Auditorium to Room 1E60, the OIR technical operations area,
is not secure. Therefore, VMB cannot accommodate the requesting officers. It
is clear to me that the time has come to secure the distribution line from the
Auditorium to Room 1E60. Taking this action will allow Agency speakers to
reach a considerably larger audience in the OIR theaters. Securing the
Auditorium-Room 1E60 line is also a first step toward reaching virtually the
entire Headquarters Building population via the secure TV distribution net,
which is currently being planned by your Office.
2. In conjunction with your plans to provide a secure, multi-media
communications system for Headquarters Building, I ask that you initiat
action to secure the television line from the Auditorium to Room 1E60.
Chief, Technical Services Section/VMB/OIR, will be th
contact point for access to the technical operations area of OIR.
