New Retirement System
There is considerable interest within the Office of Information
Technology about the specifics of the new retirement system. A number of
employees, myself included, have a personal stake in understanding this
system. I would appreciate it if you would have one of your people provide
about a thirty-minute briefing at one of my staff meetings in the near
future. While I understand that the implemention of these regulations has yet
to be worked out by OPM and the Agency, I would nevertheless like to receive
as much information as possible about the system so I can pass it along to the
OIT employees.
2. In particular, it would be helpful if the briefing included a
comparative evaluation of the new system and the old, from the standpoint of
CIARDS as well as non-CIARDS. My weekly staff meetings are held at 4:00 p.m.
on Thursdays. If this time presents a problem, I will be glad to make other
