1. In August 1983 the Office of Finance was notified that the Data Access
Center (DAC) would be shut down in the absence of available
authorized pose ions. n oraer to retain this operation, the Off ice of
Logistics, Communications, and Finance temporarily provided positions so that
OIT could continue to man the Center. It is our understanding that your
office was to receive additional ceiling in FY 1984 to accommodate the DAC
function.
2. ti?~e do utilize this Center and need to have the service continued.
Consequently, we have continued to designate one of our authorized positions
to permit staffing by your office. However, requirements now dictate that we
use our position to satisfy internal Office of Finance needs and request that
you provide the necessary slot(s) to keep the DAC operable.
3. Please advise when you expect to have positions available and
established on the formal staffing complement.
