SUBJECT : Statement of Appreciation for Excellent Work by
1. I would like to express my appreciation for the innovative efforts of
of your Data Base Systems Division. Because of
modification of Sovsub, one of our Nomad data bases, we are now able to fully
use this important data base.
2. Prior to analysis, the search rate on~ was taking
from 16 to 40 minutes. Many times the program execution was halted before the
answer was received. Since this data base contains over 40,000 records of
valuable information we decided to
look for another data base suitable for text searc ng.
3. We held meetings with) to discuss other data bases and their
capabilities. He was not convinced that a new system was the answer and
offered to look at In a few days, he was able to decrease the search
time to only 41 seconds.
4. Because ofl lxcellent assistance we are now able to access
a data base that had not been fully used for over a year.
