Letter of Appreciation
1. Representatives from Data Base Management Division of
Network Systems Engineering Group have been participating in a
cooperative venture with National Systems Group to test and
establish the Structure Query Language/Data System (SQL/DS) as
the new data base management system for the Decision Support
and Information System for Terrorism (DESIST) .
2. The project has proven successful in a test
environment, and will become the production data base
management system on DESIST in January 1986.
3. As the DESIST Program Manager I would like to extend
my appreciation to for
their work on this project. These individuals exhibited the
knowledge, willingness, and skills which allowed this system to
come production. Both worked many long hours preparing for and
running benchmarks to demonstrate the SQL/DS system as a viable
solution to the problems that had been experienced on the
DESIST system.
4. Please convey our appreciation and gratitude to these
deserving individuals for their consistently professional
attitude and enthusiasm. Their courteous cooperative efforts
are another example of the high caliber of performance that
contributes to the satisfaction of the mission of the
Intelligence Community.
