1. I want you to know I appreciate the support and attention
given to the implementation of MERCURY,by the Office of Informa-
tion Technology in recent months. As the dates for hardware
deployment and system cutover draw near, OIT's continued support
will be critical to meeting our highly visible milestones. In
anticipation of more frequent interaction between the Offices, it
is advisable to reconfirm aspects of MERCURY program security
management and request you remind your people of the need to
maintain the security posture of the program as we need to do so
