The proposal is being reviewed by the DDA and the DA component offices. The intent of the proposal is to improve the quality of ADP support to the Directorate offices by allowing offices to directly manage the use of some of their ADP resources and by placing the specialists closer to the customer. Copies of the proposal are being circulated. The proposal puts forward several ideas for discussion, almost none are firm at this time. What is clear however is that OIT staffers assigned to a component office would retain their MZ Career Service status and would in effect be on rotation for a specific tour. The proposal recommends that the manager of the ADP team in each participating component office be an OIT careerist. The proposal also suggests that the Corporate Data effort and DA systems development and support for be retained in OIT. Support for our Naturally there are many issues and questions surrounding this proposal. At this time no details have been worked out regarding an implementation plan or schedule. I will continue to keep you informed about new developments. Mr. Maloney will address all MISG employees on this subject at 1400 on 5 February Questions and discussion will follow. Your ideas and opinions are strongly solicited. Please be encouraged to discuss this with me or the Division Chiefs at any time, either in person or via AIM.
