I appreciate very much your invitation to attend the
commencement activities on Saturday, June 4th. Unfortunately,
on that day the son of a very dear friend is to be married in
southern Virginia which makes it impossible for me to be
present at your exercises. I am delighted to know that you are
honoring Judge. Sessions. He richly deserves it.
I know it will be a lovely occasion. With best wishes,
Sincerely,

Dear Judge Webster:
I hope this letter finds you well. As a past honorary degree recipient we
are pleased to invite you to march in the academic procession and join in the
festivities of the 1988 Commencement of the Dickinson School of Law.
Commencement this year will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 1988 at
the Kline Life/Sports LearningkCenter on the Dickinson College campus. Robing
will take place at 9:45 a.m. Following the ceremony, trustee Jacob Levinson
will host a reception at the law school.
On Friday, June 3, there will be an open house and cocktail reception at
the Law School, sponsored by the firm of McNees, Wallace and Nurick, from 6:30
p.m. to 7:45 p.m. followed by dinner here in Carlisle. After dinner the firm
of Rhoads and Sinon will host an open house at the Embers. There will be dancing
in the ballroom courtesy of Hourigan, Kluger, Spohrer, Quinn and Myers. We would
certainly love to have you also join us for these activities if you can.
If you are able to join us, please bring your hood with you. We will
provide the cap and gown. Could you please indicate on the enclosed post card
whether you will be present and also indicate your measurements so that we can
order the academic costume. Also let us know whether you will be with us for
cocktails and dinner on Friday. If we can make reservations for you, or provide
any other service, please do not hesitate to call upon us.
We will await what we hope is an affirmative reply.
