RE: Speaking Invitation
Jewish War Veterans of the
United States of America, Inc.
Arlington, Virginia
Saturday, 23 April 1988
PAO 88-0071
23 February 1988
Chairman of the National Executive Committee of the Jewish War Veterans
(JWV), Robert M. Zweiman, has invited you to address the Executive Committee
banquet on Saturday, 23 April at the Sheraton Hotel in Crystal City. The
proposed format is 20 minutes of remarks on a topic of your choice followed by
a 10 minute question and answer period. Approximately 150 Jewish War Veterans
representing different areas of the US will attend. The media may cover the
event. This group also invited you to speak to them last fall and you
declined. Our view was that this was not as influential a group as some you
might address.
The JWV, founded in 1896, is the nation's oldest, active, veterans
organization with a membership of 105,000 and 500 local chapters. It is both
a religious and a veterans organization.
Since you already have four speaking engagements for the month of April, I
recommend that you decline this invitation and have attached a letter of
regret for your signature.
