Many thanks for your letter of August 6th. I have penciled in the date of
Monday, March 14th, on my calendar. If it is at all possible for me to be
there, and there are no conflicts, I would like very much to do so. I will
have a member of my Public Affairs staff get in touch with you to firm up the
date. As you know, I am a strong supporter of the Junior Achievement program
and would be privileged to share the podium with you in honoring these fine
young people from St. Louis.
Warmest regards.
Sincerely yours,
isl william H. Webster

For nearly five decades, Junior Achievement has been
the leader in providing economic education for our youth.
Our JA program in St. Louis has been recognized for
maintaining the highest quality and largest program in the
nation. Each year we hold an awards banquet to acknowledge
the outstanding achievement of the teenage participants and
adult volunteers.
As Chairman of Junior Achievement's Board of Directors,
I have the privilege of asking you to chair our 1988 "Future
Unlimited Banquet". We have a tentative date of March 14,
1988. but do have some flexibility in scheduling and would
certainly work around your availability.
Corporate leaders, volunteers, and some 900 young
adults from the St. Louis metropolitan area compose an
audience of 1,800 people. The President of Junior
Achievement and his support staff handle all the details of
this event. You and I would share podium responsibilities
working from a prepared script with ample opportunity for
personal remarks Encl,os is a copy of last year'%s ,program
for your review.
on contacting you regarding this J. A. event. I thought
that Thursday night, March 3, 1988 prior to a Washington
University Trustee meeting might be a possible date. My
understanding is you may be out of the country. Anyway,
Bill, we would appreciate your helping to further motivate
these fine St. Louis young people.
