Webster Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D.C. 20505 Dear Judge Webster: Tate Hall t,,olumbia, Missouri 65211 Telephone (314) 882-3246 You~ll recall that we had hoped you could come to Columbia this fall and be our guest for our annual Law Society dinner. ?Your -schedule-didn "-t .allow--you to do ?so, and I am writing-ir: t::e hope of persuading you to be our guest next year at the same event. The Law Society is composed of our major donors -- those who have committed to at least $25,000 in gifts. We presently have 60 members. The event is black tie, and we like to have it in as elegant a setting as possib~~e (though in Columbia the choices are not all that wide!). I am sure that you know many of the members personally. - -We--would like to~-have- you -give a brief talk - on the- order of 15 minutes -- at the Law Society Dinner. If you are willing, ___. _ we would also like to ask you to speak to the student body of the law school during the afternoon preceding the dinner. This could be an hour or so, and I can guarantee it would be very well attended. We have not set a date for this event, and would try to make it fit with your schedule. ~ -We like -to hold -i-t on -a-Friday evening preceding a Saturday home football game. The possible dates for next fall. include: October 14-15, 1988 (Iowa State game) November 4-5, 1988 (Colorado game) November 11-12, 1988 (Oklahoma game) We would, of course, cover all your expenses and invite you to the football game. I hope you can do it, and I~m certain you would enjoy yourself immensely. Please let me know if you can fit it into your plans. With best personal wishes. Sincerely, Dale A.
