This invitation is for any convenient Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday June - September in New York City at the Chemical Bank Building from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m. The suggested format is 20 minutes of remarks followed by lU minutes of questions and answers. The topic would be of your choice. You could expect an audience of 150 - 200 Chairmen of the Board, Presidents and Vice Presidents of leading companies in the area. Although the press does not cover the breakfasts as media events, leaders;-fn the publishing industry would be present. (See opposite for previous invitations.) Smith/Greenland is a highly successful profit-oriented advertising firm that handles such accounts as the New York City Department of General Services, Somerset liquor account, Johnnie Walker Black Label, (billings run $23 -.$27 million), and Faberge men's McGregor cologne ($2 - $3 million). Previous speakers have been Fred Friendly, Ted Turner, and most recently the Mayflower Madam, Sydney Biddle Barrows. Admiral -Stansfield Turner spoke to the group in 1982 after leaving the CIA. (See opposite for background.). Although this is an opportunity for you to address CEO's from large companies, your participation in one of the breakfasts could give the appearance of association with the advertising agency. I-also believe that the breakfasts are organized to encourage prospective clients to use the Smith/Greenland advertising agency. I recommend that you again decline their invitation and have attached a letter of regret.
