Chairman of the Golden Eagle Club (GEC), Ronald J. McElliott, has invited
you to address the Golden Eagle Club of San Diego County at a luncheon or
dinner on a convenient date in 1988. The suggested format is 20 minutes of
remarks on a topic of your choice followed by 20 minutes of questions and
answers. You could expect an audience of approximately 150 community and
business leaders. The media is not invited to the Club's programs.
The Golden Eagle Club was founded by former Congressman Clair Burgener and
has 225 members. (See membership list opposite.) The organization is
dedicated "to the business oriented American Free Enterprise System." GEC's
charter is to "support the election of the best men and women to public
offices in San Diego County." Although the club is nonpartisan, it tends to
be conservative. Previous speakers have included Vice President Bush,
Ambassador Vernon Walters, and former Secretary Elizabeth Dole. (See list
opposite.)

Our membership of 225 represents a cross section
of the business and public leadership individuals
in San Diego.
Originated in 1983 by former Congressman Clair
Burgener, the Golden Eagle Club has experienced
remarkable success as an organization dedicated
to the business oriented Amer-ican Free Enterprise
System.
Since inception, we have been privileged to host
numerous national figures-, including the Vice
President, Cabinet officials, and other
representatives of America's leadership.(partial
list attached). Should you visit San Diego as
our guest, you can be assured your thoughts,
observations, and presence are well-served.
We take this opportunity to extend an open
invitation for you to speak to our membership at
a time convenient to you in 1988. We can arrange
for the best quality lodging, transportation,
security, and accept travel expenses as an
honorarium. Naturally, a reasonable amount of
advance notice would be appreciated. We are
