Executive Appearances and Invitations ~ ~-
The DCI addressed the William F. Buckley Memorial Service in Arlington
Cemetery on Friday, 13 May for approximately 60 mourners:" The ceremony was a
combined military and No Greater Love service. According to the Chairman of No
Greater Love, Carmella LaSpada, the Director's remarks were personal and
supportive which left a "positive feeling" with the Buckley family. Ms. LaSpada
reported how pleased the family, the organization and all the participants were
with the Agency's cooperation. "In fact," she said, "I reported to the media how
supportive and cooperative the Agency has been." We are preparing a package of
media highlights and TV clips for the Buckley family.
The Director received an honorary Doctor of Laws from Rockhurst College on
Sunday, 15 May in Independence, Missouri before an audience of 4500 students,
faculty, family and friends. A staff member from the college reported "how much
the graduates were inspired by the DCI's remarks and that his appearance made
commencement very special. The Director's remarks were appropriate and well
chosen." According to college representatives, the audience of 4500 "strongly
applauded."
