SUBJECT: D/PAO Membership in National Press Club
I have urged the Director of Public Affairs to join the
National Press Club for official purposes. Frequently, foreign
leaders are invited to speak before the National Press Club.
Presently, we have no way of participating in such occasions to
hear what is said and to observe the leader involved. Membership
in the National Press Club is required for such access.
Accordingly, in order to permit analysts,
to attend these occasions, I
believe it is in the Agency's interest to sponsor D/PAO
membership in the National Press Club.
