1. Action: None. This is for your information.
2. Background: You asked me before you went on vacation what we should
or could do a Bout the problem of media access to satellite imagery. I think
it is a serious problem with no clear, easy solution. I have asked that a
small inter-directorate group, under CRES leadership, from the DI and DS&T be
pulled together for several weeks to look at this issue in some depth. I will
advise you of their findings and steps I think may be appropriate to take at
that time.
