I am pleased to inn.~m_-z you to attend our fifth annual Business Day in
Washington. As you may ::a,;,.11 from our earlier sessions, this is an occasion
when business and community leaders such as you have an opportunity to meet
with some of our nation's key policy makers. Our program, which is arranged
in cooperation with our local Chambers of Commerce, will open again this year
with a welcoming cocktail reception at 5:00 p.m. on Monday evening, April 25,
to be followed by our substantive meetings the next day, April 26. As in the
past, I will invite all members of the New York Congressional delegation to
join us at the reception, so that you will have a good chance to mix with
them informally.
I have begun to line up a number of interesting people for our Tuesday
sessions. I have not yet received their acceptances, but I did want to alert
you well in advance and I will send along a complete list of speakers as we
get closer to the event. All of our speakers will be available for your
questions and comments after their formal remarks.
The program on Tuesday will begin with a continental breakfast, will
include lunch, and will conclude at about 3:00 p.m. All of our meetings, as
well as the Monday evening reception, will be held in the House Office
Buildings, which are conveniently located near the Capitol and your hotel.
This year we will be using a new hotel, The Phoenix Park. The Holiday Inn
could not accommodate us. Although the hotel we have chosen is a little more
expensive, I am confident you will be pleased with the accommodations. As in
the past, a block of rooms has been set aside. The Phoenix Park is located at
520 North Capitol Street, NW in Washington. We were able to obtain reduced
rates of $99 for a single room and $119 for a double. The deadline for
reservations is April 14. To make your reservation, please cnl). The Phoenix
Park Hotel at (202) 638-6900 and identify yourself as a member of Congressman
McHugh's Business Day Group.
The registration fee for all other related expenses in Washington is
$75. Please make your check payable to Congressman McHugh's Business Day
account and mail to 2335 Rayburn HOB, Washington, DC 20515. The final date
for receipt of your registration fee is April 18. Because of commitments to
our caterer, no refunds can be made after April 21.
I hope that you can join us for what I know will be another interesting
program.
Sincerely,
MFM:jc
