DCI and DDCI Support
Bob Blackwell will be taking part in another of Secretary Shultz' periodic
Saturday morning seminars. This one is designed to get the views of some
leadina academic saerialists on the prospects for Gorbachev and his policies.
Estimates and Intelligence Memoranda
Coordination of Soviet Naval Strategy and Programs Toward the 21st Century
has been suspended pending translation and review of the new Soviet book,
The Navy: Its Role, Prospects for Development and Employment. Larry Budge
will host a series of meetings to review the book as it is translated. We
anticipate resuming coordination in early November.
Guidance to the Intelligence Community
met with representatives from the Office of Secretary of
Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff on the preparation of training
guidance for the Quick-Reaction Chemical and Biological Warfare Investigative
Team. The meeting finalized details of the training course that will be
offered to the entire team in February 1989. (A/NIO for Chemical and
Biological Warfare)
