Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP90M00005R001400030021-6 STAT STAT MEMORANDUM FOR: FROM: SUBJECT: ADMINIST NTERNAL USE ONLY OCA 88-3369-/ 7 October 1988 Deputy Director for Administration Congressional Affairs Hatch Act Revisions (H.R. 3400) 1. I found out yesterday that Senator DeConcini tried last week to introduce the Hatch Reform Act as an amendment to the District of Columbia Appropriations bill. His effort failed. Contacts on the Federal Services, Post Office and Civil Service Subcommittee report that DeConcini's failure suggests that Hatch Reform is dead for this session. However, Senator Pryor may try again if the Congress continues into next week. 2. I contacted Charles Battaglia of the SSCI staff to inform him of this development. He has Senator Cohen prepared to introduce an amendment exempting the Agency from the Hatch Reform Act should serious debate take place in the Senate. cc: D/OP DD/CAP/OP D/OCA OCA/LEG-- ADMINISTRAT ERNAL USE ONLY Declassified in Part - Sanitized Copy Approved for Release 2012/11/26: CIA-RDP90M00005R001400030021-6 STAT
