SUBJECT: Request for a Slave Printer for IPC Delta Data Terminal
1. We hereby request that the Intelligence Producers Council Staff be
provided with a printer to be connected to the Staff's Delta Data terminal.
Such a printer is urgently needed for the following reasons:
o The IPC Staff is now required to furnish the DDI, on a periodic basis,
with staff budget data and projections. At present, we have no way to
make a hard copy of materials transmitted electronically to
Headquarters.
o The IPC Staff also receives information electronically (via AIM) and
again cannot develop a permanent record of such information, since our
terminal has no slave printer.
o The Delta Data terminal also permits other kinds of applications of
considerable use to the IPC, including the capacity to store and
manipulate permanent files. The utility of such storage programs is
greatly diminished without the ability to produce a printed record.
