As you are probably aware, the MASINT Committee has established the National MA NT Re uirements Data Base on a computer located in the third floor vault We have been operating this system for about 11 months during which me a number of requirements has steadily grown. Recently, while entering and printing out requirements, we have started to get "low on memory" messages. Discussions with the contractor who installed the system indicates that we need to add addition emory to the system in order to be able to process the requirements. 2. The contractor has located 1M6 single inline memory modules (SIMMs) memory chips at Tempest Products, Inc. in Sterling, VA., where the computer was originally purchased. These chips are approximately $460 each installed, and, since we will require four, the total will be approximately $1840. This will then give us a total of 4M6 random access memory (RAM), which should be adequate for sometime nding on the rate at which the Community 3. We request that you purchase these memory chips. We would like to have the contractor take the central processing unit (CPU) to Tempest Products and-wait for the chips to be installed. This way we will be without the system for only one-half day. Also, while we have the computer at the Tempest Products facility, we would like to have it checked for performance. It appears that the flyback transformer that controls the scan lines across the CRT screen is failing, and if so, we would like it replaced. Please advise as to the best way for the contractor to be able to pay Tempest Products for the sends us requirements service and installation.
