The Joint Maritime Information Element (JMIE) Steering Group zis a senior-level policy coordination and oversight body of which all organizations-participating in the JMIE consortium are members. In its last meeting, the Steering Group reviewed a plan for development of an automated information handling system to support the operational missions of consortium members. The program is advancing toward deployment of a test bed system this summer. 2. To provide members an overview of current program status, plans for implementing a full operational capability (FOC), and a demonstration of prototype system capabilities, a Steering Group meeting will be held on 28 March 1988 at 1100 in/ /Current policy, procedural, and resource issues will also be addressed. 3.
