I am pleased to enclose the final report of ? ,,t -;-
President's Commission on Privatization.
After six months of review, the Commission found
that many programs and activities that are currently
operated by the federal government could be more
effectively managed through greater private sector
involvement.
For over 40 years our nation and its people have
fallen victim to the relentless and unyielding control
of the fede6lbureaucracy. ... resulting in a
government that has inhibited productivity and
creativity in the delivery of its services.
Today, as our nation continues to grow, our society
faces new challenges to which it must respond. This
report is about those responses and solutions.
We believe the adoption of our 78 recommendations
will make a positive difference in helping assure that
the needs of our people are met.
David F. Linowes
March, 1988 Chairman
