TYURATAM SPACE LAUNCH SITE U1/2, USSR
1. (SWN) SIGNIFICANCE: PREPARATIONS ARE IN PROGRESS FOR A SPACE
LAUNCH FROM LAUNCH PAD U2.
2. (SWN)REMARKS: THE MOBILE SERVICE GANTRY IS POSITIONED OVER
THE LAUNCH PAD, AND AN SL-12/13 SPACE LAUNCH VEHICLE IS IN THE
nANTRy- AD CHECKOUT WAS OBSERVED AT U2 ON 25X1
WHEN TWO CHECKOUT TRAILERS AND AN EMPTY
CHECKOUT PLUG TRAILER WERE NEAR THE LAUNCH PAD APERTURE. THE
CHECKOUT PLUG WAS PROBABLY IN THE APERTURE BUT WAS OBSCURED BY
THE SERVICE GANTRY. THIS CHECKOUT ACTIVITY WAS NOT IN P OGRESS
WHEN THE SITE WAS PREVIOUSLY 25X1
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE HAS SHOWN THAT A LAUNCH CAN BE EXPECTED
WITHIN 48 HOURS.
