.DAMAGED /DESTROYED DURING THE SABOTAGE ATTACK THAT TOOK PLACE ON
THAT DATE AND RESULTED IN THE DESTRUCTION OF SEVERAL
OPERATIONAL COMBAT AIRCRAFT BASED HERE. APPROXIMATELY EIGHT
HAWK ARE SCHEDULED TO BE DELIVERED HERE.
(SWN) GWELO/THORNHILL AIRFIELD IS APPROXIMATELY 3 NM
EAST-NORTHEAST OF GWELO, AND IS ONE OF ZIMBABWE'S MAJOR BASES.
IT SUPPORTS FOUR ADVANCED TRAINING/ATTACK SQUADRONS OF THE
ZIMBABWEAN AIR FORCE.
