MADE ONTHE SOUTHWEST LIGHTNING ARRESTOR AND THE ON-PAD SERVICE
THE HEIGHT OF THE SOUTHWEST LIGHTNING ARRESTOR HAS
TOWER AT TYURATAM SPACE LAUNCH SITE W. SPACE LAUNCH SITE W IS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEW HEAVY-LIFT LAUNCH VEHICLE (HLV). SINCE

CONSTRUCTION ON THE SOUTHWEST LIGHTNING ARRESTOR APPEARED TO BE
COMPLETE. AN ADDITIONAL LIGHTNING ARRESTOR, NORTHEAST OF THE
LAUNCH PAD, AND THE ON-PAD SERVICE TOWER HAVE PROBABLY NOT YET
REACHED THEIR FINAL HEIGHT.

(SWN) TYURATAM SPACE LAUNCH SITE J1/2 WHICH
IS CURRENTLY BEING MODIFIED, IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEW
HLV. SPACE LAUNCH SITE J1/2 WAS ORIGINALLY DESIGNED TO LAUNCH
THE TT-05 LAUNCH VEHICLE. TWO 182-METER. LIGHTNING ARRESTORS
WERE ERECTED AT EACH LAUNCH PAD TO PROTECT THE 96-METER-HIGH
