(SWN) THE 1ST ARMD DIV UNITS INCLUDE TWO ARMD BDE (GRAPHIC 1),
ONE DIVISIONAL ARTILLERY (ARTY) BDE, ELEMENTS OF TWO OT-64
ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIER (APC)-EQUIPPED MECHANIZED (MECH)
INFANTRY (INF) BATTALIONS (BN), ONE DIVISIONAL COMBAT ASSAULT
ENGINEER REGIMENT (REGT), ONE MEDICAL BN, ONE ARMY SUPPORT
CORPS (ASC) MOTOR TRANSPORT BN, AND ONE ASC HEAVY-LIFT
TRANSPORTER UNIT. THE DIVISION ARTY BDE INCLUDES ONE PROBABLE
ARTY BDE COMMANll POST (CP) (GRAPHIC 2) WITH NET-COVERED
VEHICLES, ONE MEDIUM FIELD ARTY (FA) REGT WITH 13oMM M-46 FIELD
GUNS, ONE SELF-PROPELLED (SP) FA REGT WITH 105MM ABBOT SP GUNS
(GRAPHIC 3) AND AT' LEAST TWO FA REGT WITH 105MM INDIAN FIELD
GUNS.
(SWN) THE 14TH INDEPENDENT ARMD BDE UNITS INCLUDE AT LEAST
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF ONE INDEPENDENT ARMD BDE, ONE PROBABLE BMP
APC-EQUIPPED MECH INF BN, AND ONE FA REGT WITH 105MM INDIAN
FIELD GUNS. ONE LARGE PROBABLE CP AREA WITH NET-COVERED
VEHICLES IS ADJACENT TO THE BDE DEPLOYMENT.
(SWN) THE TRAINING EXERCISE IS CENTERED AT 28-36-30N 073-39-OOE
APPROXIMATELY 50 NM SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF SURATGARH IN THE WEST
INDIAN THAR DESERT REGION AND EXTENDS FROM AN AREA 14 NM NORTH
OF MAHAJAN AT 29-00-OON 074-00-OOE SOUTHWEST TO AN AREA
APPROXIMATELY 12 Nr1 NORTH WEST OF BIKANER AT
28-11-OON 073-12-OOE.
