1. (SWN) SIGNIFICANCE: THE FIRST DEPLOYMENT OF PROBABLE
CHINESE-BUILT 130MM M-1967 TRACKED MULTIPLE ROCKET LAUNCHERS
(MRL) IS SEEN WITH IRAQI FORCES IN THE BATTLE AREA.
2. (SWN) REMARKS: THREE BATTERIES (EACH OF AT LEAST SIX PROBABLE
MRL) ARE IN REVETTED POSITIONS IN THE VICINITY OF 32-24N
047-08E. THESE MRL WERE NOT PRESENT THIS 25X1
MRL DEPLOYMENT, IF CONFIRMED, WOULD REPRESENT THE FIRST KNOWN
EXPORT OF THIS WEAPON SYSTEM BY THE CHINESE. THE WEAPON SYSTEM
CONSISTS OF A 19-TUBE 130MM ROCKET LAUNCHER, PEDESTAL-MOUNTED
ON A M-1967 ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIER.
