Additional Positions for the Office of Logistics,

1. As you may know, EPDS and CMS have discussed position
requests from DDA components, including those mentioned in your
memorandum, with from the ODDA. During this period of
significant personnel rebuilding in this directorate we already
have committed a significant number of our ceiling points and FTE
to assist DDA elements to provide additional support in connection
with the CT program, language training, security clearances and
logistical assistance. Tentatively, we have accomplished this by
absorbing DDA ?ersonnel against our DO positions. We were not
able to give much encouragement for additional support
positions or use of DO ceiling, at least for FY 82, because of
Congressional restraints on our use of new positions, and the fact
that we are exceeding FTE allocations. ?
2. We very much hope that you can continue to provide the
planning and contracting assistance ofi
We have absorbed under our ceiling.
3. We are in the process of reviewing position requirements
for Support careerists in our components. In the near future we
hope that we will be able to confirm our requirements to you as we
move into the FY 83 and FY 84 budget years.
