Y ~ . l ~ a Y ~. 23OCT 1979 MEMORANDUM FOR: 2a ,(4 W Employees Director of Research and Development .ORD Management Advisory Group (MAG) 1. In March 1979 the ORD Career Service Panel sought to reconstitute the ORD Management Advisory Group (MAG) and asked that a charter for such a Group be written. The charter has now been.completed and ratified by the Career Service Panel. A copy of that charter is attached for your perusal and retention. 2. Several key features are incorporated in the char- ter. The ORD/MAG members will be elected by non-supervisory employees not selected by the Career Service Panel. The ORD/MAG has complete autonomy in the election and pursuit of topics for study and investigation. Specific responsi- bilities and authorities are set forth for the ORD/MAG, including a specific provision for the MAG to amend this charter as necessary. 3. The nomination and election processes described in the charter will commence in November 1979. I recommend that all ORD employees read the charter and encourage all who are eligible to participate in the electoral process. Most importantly, I urge non-supervisors to give serious consideration to service on the ORD/MAG. I am convinced that an Office-level Management Advisory Group can be a positive and constructive force in this Agency. I believe that the establishment of a dynamic MAG in ORD will serve to focus attention on real office problems and will pro- vide a means to set in2 t 9 actions to alleviate some of the problems.
