WASHINGTON POST 26 July 1986 OBITUARIES STAT RAYMOND PETER ALTMEYER, 68, a retired intelli ence astent with the entra ntelligence Astencv. died of cancer July 24 at the Com- ealth Hospital. He lived in Fairfax City. Mr. Altmeyer was born in New Albany, Ind. During World War II, he served in the Army as an intel- ligence officer. He moved to the Washington area in 1945 and joined the CIA when it was formed in 1947. He retired in about 1974. Survivors include his wife, Mary Buffat Altmeyer of Fairfax City; four daughters, Judy Mallon of Cen- treville, Cindy Martin of Tampa, Fla., and Janet A.
