RICHARD V. BOWERS,
59, a budget official with Usatrex
International Inc., a McLean-based
security concern under government
contract, died Oct. 31 at a hospital
in Mexico City after a heart attack.
A resident of Burke, he was in Mex-
ico on business at the time of his
death.
Mr. Bowers, who worked for
Usatrex for the past year, was a
budget officer with the Central In-
telligence Agency from 1950 to
1973. During his years with the
agency, he served in Japan, Egypt,
Iran and Thailand. From 1973 to
1981, he worked for the National
Wildlife Federation.
An area resident since the early
1950s, Mr. Bowers was a native of
Martinsburg, W.Va. Ile was a grad-
uate of Strayer Business College
and a Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Fran-
ces L., of Burke; a daughter, Shar-
ron, of Alexandria; three sons, Jeff,
of Springfield, and Rick and Tim,
both of Burke; a brother, Donald, of
New York City, and three grand-
children.
