Stanley Sporkin, the former general coun-
cil at the CIA, was sworn in yesterday as a
judge for the U.S. District Court' for D.C. in
an unusual ceremony at the CIA Sporlan,
whose appointment was held up for more
than 18 months, was sworn in by U.S. Dis-
trict Court Judge Aubrey Robinson with CIA
Direcr William Casey and several top CIA
and friends present. It was believed
to be the first time such a ceremony was con-
ducted at the agency. A ,public swearing-in
will be held on Feb. 21.. .
