5. Director of CIG, Chief of Legislative Liaison and called
on Senator Aiken as per appointment. Senator Aiken, through a secretary,
expressed regret at his inability to meet with General Vandenberg at this time.
'STATINTL He suggested that the Director discuss the matter with of his
staff, which the Director declined to do prior to talking with Senator Aiken.
Secretary stated that it had been an unavoidable mix-up and that a member of
his staff had been instructed to call the General to this effect, also that
Senator Aiken was extremely upset but unable to leave the hearings over which
